QIE Backup and Disaster Recovery

Protecting a QIE installation means protecting three separate things: the configuration database that holds your zones, channels, connections and users; the message database that holds the traffic those channels have processed; and the QIE home directory on disk, which carries the license, the service configuration and any third-party libraries you have added. They change at very different rates and are usually backed up on different schedules.

This section covers what to back up and how often, how to keep processing running when a host fails, and how to get back to a known-good state when an upgrade goes wrong.
