Qvera Provides HIMSS Sessions on FHIR®, Interoperability Standards

Qvera will lead two sessions on FHIR:

  • Introduction to FHIR – A Non-Technical Overview, intended for anyone who wants a better understanding of what FHIR is, and how it impacts data interoperability in general
  • How FHIR will Change Healthcare Interoperability, a forward-looking presentation talking about the future of interoperability

Ron Shapiro, Qvera CTO, will be participating on a panel discussion about the merits of the ConCert by HIMSS certification program, which is leveraging other IHE profiles based on HL7® v2, v3 and the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).

Qvera is one of seven industry leaders and pioneers who achieved ConCert by HIMSS certification in advanced interoperability.

In addition to their booth, Qvera will once again be an active participant in the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™, where healthcare professionals can learn from interactive stations along storylines. It’s a more immersive experience that gives attendees end-to-end understanding of current interoperability opportunities.

“With the bi-partisan support of the Quality Payment Program (MACRA/MIPS) the interoperability showcase is shifting its focus away from an EMR-centric fee-for service model towards a patient-centric model of healthcare delivery,” said Sam Shapiro, Qvera’s CEO.  “The redesigned showcase emphasizes the importance of integrating health data from a wide range of sources including patient wearable devices, HIE’s, research data and other electronic sources.”
