WESTMED Practice Partners Expands Contract with Qvera

KAYSVILLE, Utah, March 4, 2015 – Citing flexibility and ease of use, WESTMED Practice Partners (WPP) a provider of administrative and technology services – finance, billing, IT human resources, etc., to ambulatory care medical offices expanded its contract with Qvera.

The new contract enables WESTMED Practice Partners to use the Qvera Interface Engine (QIE) with all of its new customer practice groups. WPP currently provides practice management services for more than 330 physicians. Easy to use, QIE requires just a single full-time employee who manages more than 300 interfaces.

“Our customers rely on us for current and accurate patient information at the point of care and we rely on QIE to provide the interoperability and communication between numerous data sources and systems,” said Merin Joseph, executive vice president and chief information office for WESTMED Practice Partners.

Key factors that led to the decision for WPP to expand its contract include proven reliability and flexibility of the product over multiple years. Workflows enabled by QIE include:

  • Single sign-on from the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Immunization export to state registries
  • Automated transitions-of-care with direct Health Information Systems Program (HISP) to meet Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements
  • Exchange with Health Information Exchange (HIE)
  • Reconciles structured problems, medications and allergies directly to clinical lists

“The lack of standards can force workarounds, data duplication and interoperability problems for the providers,” said Joseph. “The real-time data accessible at the time of care is where you build the trust and we are able to provide the information by using QIE.”

“Systems management and communication between disparate EMRs/EHRs are two critical issues facing healthcare and compliance with health information exchange requirements,” said Sam Shapiro, president and CEO of Qvera. “QIE addresses the most pressing challenges by simplifying interface development and management to enhance productivity, preserve data integrity and foster interoperability. WESTMED Practice Partners is a valued partner and collaborator with Qvera and we look forward to continuing to support them and their growing practice roster.”
