Work an Error Queue with the MCP

The work_error_queue prompt asks a model to sort a channel's messages in error by cause and recommend what to do about each cause. In Claude Code, with the server added under the name qie, it runs as /qie:work_error_queue. Other clients start a prompt in their own way, where they support prompts. Codex does not support prompts, so ask it for the same work in your own words (see Connecting Codex).

Arguments

Argument Required Holds
channel Yes The channel's name or id.

What the model is asked to do

  1. Find the channel and read its status.
  2. List the messages in error and read why each one failed.
  3. Group them by cause, and for each cause say what failed, how many messages it affects, and whether to change the channel and resubmit, resubmit as they are, or resolve them.
  4. Describe any change to the channel before making it.

The model does not resubmit, resolve or discard a message until you say so. Discarding, and resubmitting or resolving an edited message or many messages, also ask you to confirm in the MCP client (see Confirmations). While Return message content is off, the model works from the error text and the message details, not the message bodies. See Message Content and the MCP.
