ConCert by HIMSS Certification

Qvera Achieves ConCert by HIMSS™ EHR Certification

Today Qvera was honored as one of only four companies who have achieved Concert by HIMSS EHR certification at the 2016 IHE North American Connectathon Awards ceremony at the HIMSS Innovation Center & Global Center for Health Innovation in Cleveland, Ohio.  Qvera is the only interface engine company to achieve certification.

ConCert by HIMSS is a comprehensive interoperability testing and certification program governed by HIMSS. The program assures secure and reliable transfer of data among electronic health records, health information exchanges, and health information services providers within and across organizational and state boundaries.

The certification program, announced in April of 2015, was developed to streamline the certification of interoperability in health IT. ConCert by HIMMS certification simplifies the task of selecting the right information systems for healthcare provider organizations.  ConCert by HIMSS states:

“This robust, highly automated testing and certification program will verify that, once certified, a product is capable of exchanging health information securely and reliably with other certified products. With this certification, a single set of standardized, easy-to-implement connections can support communication among systems.”

It’s a unique, independent seal of approval for EHR, HIE and HISP systems. ICSA Labs serves as the independent testing and certification body for this effort.

ConCert by HIMSS was built on the work of the EHR/HIE Interoperability Workgroup (IWG) and IHE USA. Qvera’s CTO, Ron Shapiro, was selected to be one of eight members of the IHE USA Implementation Committee, and supported the ConCert program development effort.

From the press release:

“These companies have spent the past year completing a rigorous testing program – the first certification program based on interoperability – to ensure their systems can communicate and enable data exchange in a way that ensures the right person has access to the right data at the right time,” said Joyce Sensmeier, RN-BC, MS, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, FAAN, vice president, informatics, HIMSS North America. “With this data, doctors, consumers and patients will have access to critical information that will empower the best point-of-care decisions. We celebrate and congratulate these organizations during IHE North American Connectathon Week 2016.”
