QIE 24.2.1 adds RSA field encryption and active/passive high availability
QIE 24.2.1 is available, with a security pass over stored credentials and a new high availability topology.
Database field encryption with your own RSA key
Sensitive configuration fields can be encrypted with a standard RSA key rather than only QIE’s internal mechanism, so key material stays under the site’s control. SFTP, SMTP and migrated database fields are now encrypted too.
Active/passive high availability
A backup node reports itself unhealthy to the load balancer while the primary is up and healthy only once the primary fails, giving a standby deployment without sending live traffic to it.
Private key export as password-protected PEM
Key material can be handed to a partner system without exposing it in the clear.
A Jakarta EE platform refresh
Jetty moves from 9.4 to 11 and Spring from 5.3 to 6.2, with Hibernate and GWT moving to the jakarta namespace.
Child windows close on logout
Logging out or locking the console also closes viewed logs, open documentation and previewed DICOM images, so patient data is not left on an unattended workstation.
Published retroactively in September 2026 to complete the release archive. QIE 24.2.1 shipped on 16 July 2024.
