I would like information on best practices from a clinical standpoint for transmitting transitions of care using QIE.  GE provides more detailed information on the Secure Messaging path, but I am finding little information on the workflow for using QIE.  There is some, but I want to know what Qvera has to say.  Thank you.

Here are the workflow steps to perform in Centricity. No user interaction should be needed from the Qvera Interface Engine side.

Create a TOC document:
  •  Start a chart update.
  •  Create a new order for a patient.
  •  Check the ‘Create Transition of Care Document’ checkbox.
  •  Enter a Duration, Quantity and Reason.
  •  Select the service provider from the drop down list (must have a secure electronic address).
  •  Set the ‘Disposition’ to ’In Process’.
  •  Sign the order.

If the order is set to 'Admin Hold', it can later be changed and updated to 'In Process'.  The orders will not be sent until it is 'In Process'.
