Use QIE to connect to Laboratory Instruments ?

Can QIE be used to connect to Laboratory Instruments such as Roche Cobas e411 or any other instruments over TCP/IP and send and receive HL7 mesasges to instruments ?

Qvera Interface Engine supports HL7 messages via TCP/IP. The most common for instruments is an MLLP socket connection which is supported.

QIE can also support web services, FTP, and other methods of connectivity.
