QIE 5.23.1 ships on Java 17 with SFTP key authentication
QIE 5.23.1 is available. This release moves the installed platform forward and adds several connectivity options.
Java 17 and MariaDB 10.6 in the installer
New installations now get Java 17 and MariaDB 10.6 rather than Java 8 and MariaDB 10.5, and the default heap doubles to 2048m. No hand-provisioning of an end-of-life runtime.
SFTP key-based authentication
SFTP endpoints can authenticate with an imported or QIE-generated RSA key instead of a password, and QIE can derive the public key to hand to the partner site. Many partners no longer accept password-based SFTP at all.
Persistent secure sockets
A destination can hold one TLS socket open across messages rather than reconnecting for each, which suits partners that expect a long-lived connection.
A new Fixed Length message model
Replaces the older Fixed Width model for positional flat files, with a reworked way to describe and map them.
User administration through the Management API
Accounts can be created, changed and removed through the API, so provisioning can be driven from an existing workflow.
Conditional repeating fields in HPATH
HL7 node paths can select a repeating field by condition, replacing script loops in mappings against repeating identifiers or addresses.
Published retroactively in September 2026 to complete the release archive. QIE 5.23.1 shipped on 17 January 2023.
