Qvera makes incremental improvements to the product so we can test thoroughly, provide new features in the product, and still minimize the impact of introducing defects.  As we make these improvements to the product, we schedule them to release to our customers.  In general these release types represent how stable the features are, how long the features have been available, how many customers are actively using them, and how frequently we release a new build.

Alpha (formally Nightly) releases contain the newest features and bug fixes.  These have been tested internally, but may not have been on any customer machines.

Beta releases have been installed on new customers as well as some existing customers, and have been running without any issues.  (In the past, we make a beta release every few weeks.)

Production releases has been installed and are actively used in multiple Production environments, without any issues.  (In the past we make a prod release every few months.)
