I have installed QIE and configured it to run the jetty port on 6000.  The service starts up, and the windows service shows that QIE is listening on this port, but when I try to connect using chrome I get a browser error ERR_UNSAFE_PORT.  How do I fix this?

The following ports are considered unsafe by Chrome

  1, // tcpmux
  7, // echo
  9, // discard
  11, // systat
  13, // daytime

The best practice is to avoid using these ports for the QIE service.  (see https://superuser.com/questions/188058/which-ports-are-considered-unsafe-on-chrome#188070 for more information).

If you must use one of these ports for the QIE service, then you will need to launch chrome with an application option to enable that port for use.  You will have to add '--explicitly-allowed-ports=xxx' to your shortcut for launching chrome.  (see https://superuser.com/questions/188006/how-to-fix-err-unsafe-port-error-on-chrome-when-browsing-to-unsafe-ports for more information).
