Do you need to restart a channel when a global function it uses is changed

I am wondering if when you make a change to a global function if you have to restart the qie channels before they use the changed version of the global function?

Whenever a global function or published function at the zone level is updated, you must restart the qie channels using it. This is because the function is cached when the channel is started and only reloaded when the channel is restarted.
