Qvera Offering Free Support to AMA/Google Challenge Developers Using QIE
This month, the American Medical Association (AMA) announced their AMA Health Care Interoperability and Innovation Challenge sponsored by Google, a contest that aims to inspire creative new mobile healthcare technology solutions.
Eligible entries include tech like new mobile apps and wearable medical devices that help patients and providers interact with patient-generated healthcare data (PGHD) in meaningful ways.
Developers must show how the technology
- Imports or transfers PGHD into “one or more phases of clinical care” (such as assessment, goal-setting, treatment or intervention — see official rules for more details), and
- how it extracts or transfers PGHD to a patient’s mobile device for further action.
Three winners will be chosen to share $50,000 in Google Cloud credits, and ideas are due by June 7.

The AMA says solutions that focus on data sharing are “of particular interest,” and they’re looking for tools that can make data from wearables “accessible and actionable.”
