01/04/2010 - Qvera Acquires Kryptiq Interface Engine

KAYSVILLE, Utah, January 4, 2010 – Qvera LLC, announced today that it has acquired the Kryptiq Interface Engine (KIE) from Kryptiq Corporation.  The acquisition includes exclusive licensing and support rights to KIE and enables Qvera to further extend its suite of products and services available to customers who need to integrate their healthcare IT systems.

“This acquisition complements our HL7 consulting services, and is a perfect fit for our organization,” said Sam Shapiro, former owner of MedShape and current CEO of Qvera. “We are excited to resume support of a product we created at MedShape and we look forward to welcoming back the many customers we previously supported as well as the new customers who have purchased through Kryptiq. Our vision is not only to continue a tradition of excellent service but also to significantly expand the interface engine’s capabilities in order to better meet the ever-evolving needs of a healthcare IT industry.”

Formerly known as the RosettaStone Interface Engine, KIE was acquired by Kryptiq in 2003 as part of their MedShape Acquisition. KIE is a stand-alone integration engine that is field programmable to meet the needs of point-to-point interfaces between healthcare IT systems.

“Kryptiq is building a vendor-neutral network that facilitates collaboration between providers, hospitals, pharmacies and patients. Partnerships with focused consulting services companies are a highly effective way of delivering field-programmable solutions to specific markets,” said Malcolm Costello, Kryptiq senior vice president of marketing. “We chose Qvera as the ideal trusted partner for this business due to their familiarity with both the specific technology and our existing customer base.”

As part of the agreement, all existing customer and technical support agreements for KIE will be transferred to Qvera.
