Management
Sam Shapiro
President & CEO
Sam Shapiro has over 18 years experience in healthcare software development and business administration. In 1997, while finishing an engineering degree at Brigham Young University, Sam founded MedShape LLC, where he was successful in bringing to market several key medical software solutions, including DocuTrak – a scanning and indexing solution used with GE’s Centricity EMR – and an HL7 interface engine used for facilitating data exchange between medical information systems. In 2003, he negotiated the sale of MedShape to Kryptiq Corporation. As part of that sale, Sam joined Kryptiq as a senior executive and, during his time there, played key roles in shaping the product direction and development as well as building the customer base to more than 10 times what it was when he joined. In 2007 Sam left Kryptiq and founded Qvera.
Ron Shapiro
Vice President & CTO
Ron Shapiro has over 20 years experience in software development and management. Ron received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1994. In 1996 Ron joined MountainView Software Corporation as a senior software developer and eventually became Vice President of Development. In 2008 Ron left MountainView Software Corporation to join Qvera as Vice President and CTO.
Tom Landholt, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Landholt is an actively practicing, board-certified primary care physician in Springfield, Missouri. His past experience includes similar roles at industry-leading healthcare IT companies such as MedicaLogic, GE, Kryptiq and MassPRO. As a pioneer in clinical information technology (IT), he has used automated medical records and related IT systems since 1995. Merging his background in business management with his medical expertise, Dr. Landholt has created a “best practices” clinic which has demonstrated exceptional quality of patient care and superior clinical efficiencies. His practice, PatientCare Family Clinic, has been a leading GE show site for the past ten years.
